Teri Johnson is the Co-Creator, Writer, Executive Producer and Host of Travelista TV, an online video network focused on travel, culture, lifestyle and entertainment around the world. She is a Travel and Cultural Expert who resides in NYC. She created Travelista TV out of her passion for global travel, storytelling and her love for connecting with different cultures from around the world. She comes from a family of world travelers and began globetrotting at the young age of 12.
Teri has traveled to over 55 countries, is multi-lingual and is a true adventure seeker. From hunting with the Kuku-Yalanji aborigines in Australia to trekking through the mystical Dogon country in Mali, nothing is off limits for this Global Citizen.
Teri’s commercial appeal has landed her in national advertisements, web series, and online campaigns with Ford, Honda, Hampton Hotels, and Choice International Hotels. In October 2013, she was hand picked to host a five episode series entitled “Travels Best – Fall Foliage” by the Travel Channel. Teri is also featured in projects for various tourism boards including South Africa Tourism, Antigua & Barbuda Tourism, and the US Virgin Islands Tourism.
She licensed the Travelista brand to BET for an original web series entitled “Travelistas Inspired Journeys”, sponsored by Ford and produced a web series for TVOne that focused on the filmmaker experience at the Sundance Film Festival. Teri also licensed the Travelista brand to produce an original webseries for AOL and Choice International Hotels that has received over 10 million views. In 2012 and 2013 Teri executive produced and hosted a music and entertainment show for AOL/Huffington Post called BV365 which is sponsored by Honda.
As a travel expert, she has been a guest on NBC’s “Celebrity Apprentice“, Travel Channel’s “Stuff Rich People Like“, Fine Living’s “All Girls Getaway” and the “Mo’Nique Show”.
In addition to being a travel personality, Teri is a travel blogger for AOL/Huffington Post and has appeared in and/or contributed to several magazines including Cosmopolitan, Uptown Magazine, Four Seasons Magazine, Essence Magazine, Jones Magazine, Ebony Magazine, and Rolling Out Magazine.
Teri is also an independent producer and director and serves as President of Dreamtime Media Inc. She co-directed her first feature-length narrative film entitled “Hey Diddle Diddle” (2009), which has aired as a mini-series in 64 million households.
As President of Dreamtime Media Inc., she works with clients, brands, and filmmakers to develop videos and web series to promote, inform, educate and entertain. To date, the Dreamtime Media team has created nearly 600 videos for various clients including AOL, Huffington Post, BET, TVOne, Essence Communications, ICV Capital Partners, and The Center for Medical Excellence and Research and has worked with notable brands such as Ford Motor Company, Honda, Choice International Hotels, and Royal Caribbean.
Teri holds a Masters in Business Administration from Florida A&M University and a certificate of achievement from the Universitè de Paris-Sorbonne. She also studied Italian wine at Lorenzo de Medici in Florence, Italy and has studies at the School of Visual Arts (SVA) and the New York Film Academy in New York City.
In her spare time, she volunteers with two non-for profit organizations focused on Haiti and has traveled there twice since the 2009 earthquake to help document the rebuilding efforts and help assess the needs of the country.
